advice on removing fuel injector pump
Just before Xmas I noticed a fuel leak on our 1996 2.5 diesel bongo. It's coming from the fuel injector pump. The van is fitted with a fuel pre heater so it can use cooking oil but we've only ever used diesel. From reading other posts it seems chip fat and seals aren't best mates and on closer inspection it's been sealed before with some kind of epoxy which has now failed. So it's got to come off for refurbishment/ replacement. Any advice before I start would be very welcome.

Re: advice on removing fuel injector pump
The side seals can be accessed with thin fingers without removing the pump. A fiddly but cheap DIY job.
The internal seals require the pump to be removed. Cheapest is to take it to Bongospares who has replacing fuel pumps down to a fine art but I don't think you are near him. An experienced mechanic (or you) can remove the pump. Replace it with a recon unit from bongospares - unless of course you are up for taking the pump apart yourself which is not generally suggested.
