cheap cooking stoves

No idea if this would be of any use but I thought that it might be of interest - - -If you want to use ethanol gel fuel the price of £50 for a two burner stainless steel stove seems reasonable and it might even be available for less from other suppliers ! .The gel fuel could be pricey, so worth checking out, however according to those in the know - Google it - (and at your own risk) alcohol /ethanol based gel hand sanitiser seems to work as a fuel just as well and at £15 or less for 5 litres it is worth a bit of research.

I will of course be sticking with my trusty Origo!

Hi
I don't know about alcohol gel, but I got an Origo replica that's well rated for£100.00...we use it as a backup for power cuts as well, and it runs on lamp oil / meths...easily available across Europe!
Cheers

Looks jolly good at that price, and as Helen says, a good home standby too. 8)

I would like to see a manufacturer produce a neat combo stainless sink / flush fit ethanol-alcohol stove ( Origo or Can! ) unit teamed up with a hand pump-tap (like this http://tinyurl.com/jdko6jx or http://tinyurl.com/zkw6y6z ) The only other addition would be two cheap plastic tanks for water and waste
This would be an inexpensive, easily installed and maintained ,safe option . No gas or electricity required !
