Ignition timing settings - 2L

Post by yehudi67 » Wed Dec 30, 2015 1:33 pm

Hi all, new user here looking for some advice. I've had an engine rebuild on my bongo friendee 2l petrol 2000 van over the holiday. Does anyone know the correct ignition timing settings? I currently have 6 degrees before TDC at 800rpm and the Bongo is running, but I wanted to check those settings as I have no English manual.
Many thanks for any advice.

Is it a similar engine to the 626 .. as that's 6degrees BTDC ..

You have to do some funky stuff with the OBD port to get it into the correct 'mode' to check the timing (with the 2.5 V6 at least).

Thanks for the replies. Think its a 626 12 valve engine. I'm told its the same engine and settings as a kia sportage. Autodata is down today when I've asked garages. Just need to confirm for mechanic. It's the 2000 Aerorunner import - will invest in the manual.
