Hi so today on school run car parked infront of me about 1.5m away - diver on phone, hops out runs into school and leaves handbrake off. Her 4x4 rolls into the front of my lovely bongo And there is a crunching sound. Thereis no damage to either cars body work.
But went i start the bongo and put it into drive there is an initial crunch then seems to be running fine all the way home, should i worry? Any easy way to check for possible damage? Help!

Your radiator, and ATF cooling section are right at the front and would have taken any impact that the bumper itself was unable to resist, so might be worth checking the bumper supports and the two metal pipes leading backwards down the length of the engine from behind the radiator.

Personally I would not check in the morning .... get a garage to do it for you ..

I was on the A1M when a caravan in front flipped over .. the Jag in front stopped ..I stopped .. the girl in the Suzuki behind me didn't and got hooked on my tow bar ..

She was distraught and in tears .. the back of my Bongo seemed OK .. and as it was us now blocking the Motorway .. I let her off ...

Bad move ... when I got to my daughters in County Durham and she looked .. under the road spray and grime the corner of the bumper was cracked .. a 50p size chip in the paint of the tail gate .. and the chrome exhaust trim knackered ..

I asked a repair shop for a quote .... around £400 ..!!

Agree, get a garage to check it out and likely best to report to your insurers, and hers.

Often these things are far worse than first thought.

are you an auto box, when you were parked was the gear selector in park, if yes then it could have damaged the gearbox. as i understand it when you select park it puts a peg/lock in position in the gearbox to lock the box, this may have been damaged.
when parked up can you change gear with the engine not running whilst not pressing the brake. you normally have to press the brake peddle to release the peg/interlock then select drive.

i may have got this wrong but this may be the crunch you heard when you initially selected drive / drove off.
