Been let down by a garage who were going to fix my leaking front diff seal whilst the Bongo was in for other work. If it took me 2 hours (twice as long as the pros) that is still quicker than driving back and forth to the Bongo hospital. So is it a DIY?
I have never ventured near a Bongo drivetrain. Last time I did this type of job was with a front wheel drive car and it was quite an involved job dismantling most of the front wheel assembly to withdraw the drive shaft. There are threads on here indicating that members have done it (e.g. zoomzoomluke) but I can't find a step-step guide. Any special tools needed? Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

Re: Front diff driveshaft seal replacement
There is a vent for the diff
Which gets blocked and then the pressure builds up and blows the seal
Beleave the vent is a dome on top which gets waxoyled blocked
Just unblocking vent can cure leak sometimes
Think northern bongo has posted this info in past

Re: Front diff driveshaft seal replacement
Clocked that one as well and asked the garage to check it today when topping the diff up. I will also take a look myself now that my lazy approach of getting it fixed whilst the van was in having its fuel pump sorted has fallen through. I also read that once the seal has leaked, it'll continue to do so.

Not so very hard, did mine with the rest of the front suspension.
