Removing the steering wheel

Post by levon » Fri Jul 17, 2015 11:20 am

Hi All

I need to remove the steering wheel to get it back true (came back from the garage not at centre when the wheels are straight). I had a go a while back and made it nearly true but when I try now I can't work out how on earth I got the wheel off?

How do you remove the centre part covering the horn? Or isn't this the way to get the whole steering wheel off? I'm OK once I can access the nut but can't find access?

Any help much appreciated. (I have searched the forum and there are quite a few posts about removing the steering wheel but none seem to mention the key part for me of accessing the nut which is where the other posts seem to start!

Thanks

Levon

Undo the screws on the rear of the wheel & pop the centre section off: http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html

You might want to disconnect the battery & wait at least 15 mins to reduce chances of problems with airbag (if fitted) & it will also avoid honking the horn as you fiddle with it.

Air bag is definitely the thing to watch, if fitted.
