Oil Filler

Hi all
I just bought my first Ford Freda its a 4wd AFT 2.5 diesel
Now I know theres questions been asked such as where is the oil filler etc and people have looked under the bonnet or drivers side without looking under the passengers side so I wont be a space cadet ........until I can't find where to put the oil.

Looked under passenger seat, found bright yellow dipstick handle but where to put oil in? Seen answers to other queries and filler is just above dipstick but mine seems to have blanking plate with filler cap on top of engine under the metal centrepiece where gear change is. This can't be right?

I have photos but dont know how to post??

Alec

This is the Ford Ranger version of the WLT engine and it has a filler cap on the rocker cover and a blanking plate where the pipe and cap would be on a Bongo engine. If yours does look like this, then it suggests the engine or head has been swapped (not particularly well) from a Ranger. I've got the bits you need if you want to convert it back to how it should be.

if it is either the same as mine or simons check the exhaust manifold, the egr pipe connection is slightly different to the bongo. the bongo egr pipe should screw into the rear of the manifold but the b2500 bolts onto a block at the rear of the manifold, not really a problem to look at it, but it eventually melts the large black plastic air pipe that goes round the rear of the head.

Thanks. On that note the exhaust has just sheared at the end of long front section where it bolts to 2nd section. I took to Kwikfit (at just up the road) and they have ordered a part. Will this still fit ok with the egr issue you mention? Is this just a case of it plugging in?
Sorry but new to this and not had Freda/Bongo before.

Thanks for the help hopefully be back on the road tomorrow.
Is this different head thing a common change? Also can I just change blanking plate for filler neck otherwise gonna be hard to top up oil?
