Losing a Little Water

Post by Mark Elvin » Mon May 18, 2015 1:56 pm

The Bongotron is losing a little bit of water, probably 250ml every 400-500miles

Water is totally clean, as is the oil, the water pipes are not hard when running either, so system not being pressurised by combustion gasses & not a trace of white smoke when hot or cold.

The old girl is in for a pre-summer service at ADS Bristol on Thursday so they will check it out, hopefully just a weep from a union or the water pump.

Will report back

Also worth checking All the core plugs, particularly the hard to see ones Behind manifolds and at the back of the head.

Good Luck.

Some say its worth buying a u/v torch and some u/v dye and putting that in the system to see if the source of an an otherwise undetectable leak can be tracked down. Might be worth a go?
