12v system down - fuse check?

First camping trip of the year and the 12v sockets didn't work

I assumed Leisure battery was dead but checked when I got home and it's got plenty of juice left. I planned to call in David Young who sorted the electrics when I first purchase the Bongo but he's no longer a "mobile electrician".

His recommendation was firstly to check the fuse in the 12v circuit - so my first question is where do I find that please? Second question, if replacing fuse doesn't work can anyone recommend someone who can look at this for me? Needs to be an electrician, ideally mobile (tried at Master Tech when they did the MOT but no luck).

Humm, there are several fuses, normally one per type of circuit at least!
First do you know what circuits have been switched over to the LB, normally 4 existing circuits from the SB and then any additional ones in any conversion you may have.
Do you have an EHU setup as well as that may well affect things as well. If so does it use a Zig or PMS control unit, if so what type number is on the front of it ?

When you say the 12 volt sockets didn't work can you be a bit more specific, do you mean the cigarette sockets one on the front dash and the other on the nearside between mid and rear seats ?

As far as I can tell the LB supplies the 12v on dash, 12v sockets in rear plus the radio. None of these are currently working.

I do have a EHU but that doesn't have a Zig or similar, it's a stand alone unit with RCD so totally separate from the LB.

has the lb got its own fuse block?

what kit was used to wire it up

some piggy back of fuses down by drivers knee

other sort of start again with own fuse block and altered car wiring

Hi,

Mine has an in-line fuse on the thick wire that joins the starter battery to the leisure battery. It's under the bonnet (closest to the starter battery). When mine stopped working that was the fuse responsible.

You should find that the LB has a fused feed to a fuseblock, probably under the bonnet but not always, this will then feed between 2 and 4 fuses on the old fuse block down by the drivers knee, the feeds may be from the front in which case you will see wiring like this;

but its not always done from the front and may be from the rear with the fuses still in place.
