Heater display

Post by vicksplace » Sun Apr 26, 2015 4:24 pm

Hi,

I have a quick question. I've just bought my first Bongo and the heater display in the centre console stays on all the time (so it always shows the fan mode it's on). Just wondered if this was normal?

Cheers,

Vicky

Or one of the fan relays has welded contacts and is supplying power backwards into the unit. Could be front or rear relay, try the front one first. Nearside wheel arch 2nd from rear as I recall.

have just read this and thought is it the icon that is always displaying? could be just a matter of pushing the off button on the control panel?

Hey guys,

Thanks for all your quick replies.

I didn't explain very well before but yes, it is the icon that is always on, even after the off button has been pressed on the unit (i.e the fan / heater / air-con unit is switched off) The icon permanently displays the last selected fan position.

This is only happening with the ignition on, so I don't think it's on the leisure battery. Everything seems to work fine - heating and air-con all work as expected and I can adjust the fan. It just seems odd that the light stays on when the unit is off, and wondered if it's anything to worry about. Maybe they all do that?

Cheers!

Ah yes the Icon does display even when the switch is off, simply because the air will still flow thru the vents selected. Provided it goes off with the ignition all is well.
