Ignition live

Post by Idris » Mon Jan 26, 2015 4:06 pm

Which circuits are ignition live, including when the starter motor is turning?

I need to conect my twin tank veg oil system to an ignition on live - needs to work when starter is cranking or I can't do a hot restart on veg as the valves default to diesel.
Running on a continuous live won't work as I am forgetfull enough to leave it on an flatten the battery - in previous vehicles this was anoying but could be remedied with a bump start - not so in an Auto Bongo :(

There's a feed to the diagnostics socket in the passenger footwell which should be live while the engine is cranking - black/white on my 1995 2.5TD

Piggy back fuses into the fusebox next to drivers knee would do it
Use the fuse position for interior lights etc

You need the IG1 circuit which is the Blue (L) wire running from the Ignition switch to the internal fuse block, there are 6 existing fuses on this circuit;
