So i have just ordered a dti mount do i can adjust the diesel pump accurately. I find it very strange they have no zero marks for a default timing. Anyway just found something rather strange that I'm looking for a workaround or replacement. It has been repaired load by the looks of it but if i can bypass then i will. Please see attached pic. Not sure a)what it is and b) what it does but pipes come from diesel pump and go to nothing! !

Re: diesel knocking
they are the cold start solenoids, the act on the pump via the vac pipes and diaphragm, they do look in a bit of a mess and the crappy non vac pipe wont help as it will suck flat when warm.
heres how they should be piped up.

the pipes go to 24-8002 on here.

Re: diesel knocking
Thanks for the great links. When it's running properly i shall replace it all. Hoping to get the dti tomorrow for some fine tuning. Otherwise if it's not pump timing then it's going to be engine out job!

Just a thought....as this happened to me....check that you don't have a broken rocker.
