Has anyone fitted LED headlight bulb to a V6 petrol Bongo? Advice sort on the ones to fit.
Also have a query re fitting 17" wheels to the same vehicle. Are there any issues re tyre size? The Bongo is a 2 wheel drive. LK Performance suggest the tyre size of 225x50xR17. Is this correct?

Welcome to the forum. Depends what headlamps & bulbs you currently have. There are 3 styles of headlamps out there & the final type from about 2001 onwards use HID/Xenon bulbs which look like this:

...and will have high voltage warning on the back:

There is no advantage in changing these to LED as they are already far better & more efficient that conventional bulbs, plus bypassing the ballast circuit etc would be tricky. If you have conventional bulbs, you can get LED conversion kits, but what you need to bear in mind is that a lot of LED stuff from the far east tends to be pretty cheap & cheerful so may not last very long. That means when a bulb ultimately fails, you wont be able to pop down to the local car spares shop & buy a replacement.
Can't comment on the wheel / tyre sizes as I stick to the standard 15" wheels, but you should let your insurance company know as non-standard tyres will be classed as a modification.

225 50 R17 are fine and very close to stock in terms of circumference although we found the 225 55 R17 suited our needs better as you can fit SUV tyres in this size.
The only LED lights I've heard of that come anywhere close to normal, filament bulbs in terms of brightness and cut off are the ones with a separate power supply and heat sink. However, even these are not so good.
Having said that, we've got some LED headlight bulbs fitted and they're great.....but they're in the reversing lights.
