Curtain rails

Post by Marbleous » Mon Sep 29, 2014 10:37 am

I HATE my silver screens!

I'm handy with a sewing machine and have made many sets of curtains. So I am going to make a pair of curtains for the front cab (to go behind the front seats) and one for the rear window. Easy.

Not easy = a curtain rail/track.

If anyone can shed any light on how I can do this I would be very grateful. I will make tie backs for them too so they don't get in the way when driving and can be used from within the campervan avoiding having to wander around the van licking suction cups in the rain!

Happy to share the curtain pattern once I have worked it all out.

Thanks

We've just fitted some silent gliss track http://www.burtsbusemporium.co.uk/silen ... ck/6608471

It was a bit of a swine to attach as it uses the teeny tiniest self tappers imaginable, with really soft heads so they shear off, but we like the fact that there was no flange visible so looks really neat (with hind sight I'd have used 2.4mm csk pop rivets). They even do a special looped header & associate runners so you can't see the hear or runners (the header tape goes between the fabric & the lining at the top & bottom.

Hopefully the curtains may be finished later, I'll pop up some photos.

Thank you!

It is sold by the 1.5 meter .... how much do I need to do front and back?

I would love to see pics of your particularly how/where exactly it is fixed to.

It time to get my van super organised so that next year going away is an absolute doddle!

Thank you
