AFT mechanism question

Post by markley » Tue Sep 23, 2014 2:07 pm

I just need to know what it the best thing to use to lubricate the AFT roof mechanism, I am assuming 3 in 1 on the arm and grease for the rail runs with the white plastic wheel in. Is this correct?

Thanks a million

I always used silicon spray on the runners and spray polish (Pledge) on the chrome part of the dampers.

Hi
I use white spray grease on the runners, and as John (Francophile) suggests, use summat on the rams . I use silicon spray on a kitchen towel, and wipe the rods with it....DON'T spray the stuff everywhere...silicon spray is not nice stuff, especially if you breathe it in....DANGEROUS!
Cheers

It is not recommended to use any type of lubricant/silicone/ or polish on the rams (chrome bits) simply use printer paper or similar and give them a good rub until there are no black marks on the paper.
