Auto Gear Indicator Strip Replacemet

Post by Mark Elvin » Fri Sep 19, 2014 6:16 am

My gear indicator strip is nasty & cracked, so whilst ordering my plasma dial kit I've decided to add the gear indicator strip (& heater panel too).

How do you get the strip out, does it simply slide out & the new strip slide in, or is there more to it than that?

Yes it slides out but normally the old one is very brittle and just breaks up as soon as you touch it! See the group buy for the plasma dials for details.

I did mine years back and recall having to remove the gear knob which included a lot of head scratching while I worked out how to do that (it came up recently on here and someone explained how, though I've forgotten). My replacement came from Bongobits but the club shop and others probably do them.
