Disassembly Of Mid Row Seats

Post by Mark Elvin » Sun Sep 14, 2014 5:55 pm

The next seats to be recovered during our interior refresh is the middle row.

Does anybody know how the mid row comes apart once out of the Bongo please?

Simple enough.

If you are working on the seat inside the house, be aware that the ends of the feet are pretty sharp, and with the weight of the seat are likely to damage the carpet - use some wooden boards!

Whip off the plastic covers, and you will see what needs to be removed to strip them down.

The fabric covers are held on with wire clips which need to be un-curled with long-nosed pliers.

Here's a link to my album "Seats", which shows various seats in various stages of dismantling

Edit - Just read your other thread re. front seats. Mid row is very similar, except the long rod which goes across the back to un-latch the 2 "fold forward" mechanisms. Oh, and it's bigger!

It's the "long rod" that got me. Is it just a case of remove the cross head screw & Bob's your uncle? The pics however are a great help. Thanks
