water comes down back of block were it meets the box and drips from there
im guessing its one of 3 core plugs which means box out
would it be worth tryting a rad weld or do i just bite the bullet

Re: leak rear of engine
I would avoid Radweld if it were me and go for a permanent repair. Used it once on an old car I was selling and while it patched a hole in the rad sucessfully, it turned the coolant into a brown slime which took several flushes to remove.

core plugs for the head and block here.

but it may just be the heater pipe that crosses over the bell housing from the passy side to the drivers side that supplies the rear heater.

Re: leak rear of engine
if its an engine block rear plug they usually leak into the gearbox bell housing then leak from the rubber grommet at the bottom of the gearbox.
this may help.

you can do the head ones in situ

I would imagine that if you can see the leak above the bell housing you should not need to remove the box to fix it.
Re: leak rear of engine
no it was on bottom of block by the bell housing

Ahh, that's different.
Good Luck.
