Does the light come on when you put key in the ignition or are you just seeing the icon on the dash which is probably standard on all models?

Then I guess Mazda were being tight or stuck for space for an extra dashlight and combined the ABS with 4WD. I have both but to be honest have not paid much attention to the signage on the lamp. As it is full time 4WD there isn't much point in having a light to tell me it's engaged and if it fails I think it would get noisy enough without the need for a light!

So in conclusion I guess it's a misnomer and should just read 'ABS'.

It means you have abs on four wheels.
Nowt to do with 4 wheel drive.
My mitsubishi has the same light and the handbook says it is the warning light for the abs.

Some abs systems must be only on the front wheels, i guess.
So its a bit of "Posh" if it says 4 wheel abs.
