Health Check
AVA Leisure in Surrey do a Bongo Health Check for £58.50.
As someone who doesn't really know about mechanics and even less about ageing vehicles like Bongos. Do people generally think this sort of thing is worthwhile? Will it give me an idea about throwing good money after bad or if it's worth upgrading things?
Or is it a license to print money by scaring the uninitiated into getting work done that's not really needed?
Discuss.......
Thanks
Pierre

Probably worth it if you don't have a good mechanic, or the time / knowledge / inclination to do it yourself. Regular maintenance and the knowledge gained on here will go a long way to ensuring a vehicle is reliable and lasts a bit longer.

Re: Health Check
Yup, that's exactly what I'm looking at getting.
I thought it'd be a good starter for 10 to see where I stand with Freddie. He's done me proud since last Oct, but obviously justified the MOT.
I use him for MTB races and events and am looking to keep him now and possibly make upgrades. Just want to make sure it's a solid base from which to be doing it.
I got a cheap respray and arch replacement when I bought it. The offside arch is already spotted with rust again by the sill![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
So an expert opinion is what I need I think.

Re: Health Check
Hi
I'll add to that...I usually look my own vehicles over, but I did buy a Jag some years back, and just took it to a main dealer and asked them to go through it with a fine tooth comb...It cost a fair penny (about as much as having a retrospective AA buyers test), but the number of little things they picked up was worth the money, but it was confirmed as a gem...things like the reading lights not working...and all sorts of bits I wouldn't bother with...so....yes, definitely worth a "second opinion"....and it'll save you hours of fiddling!
Cheers
Helen

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Thanks Helen
Anything that saves me fiddling for hours is a good thing.

Had a Rolls Royce Shadow checked a few years ago, the only thing on the report was that the clock was noisy. They replaced it Free of Charge.
