various questions, 2001v6,tintop,

Post by readarnold » Sat Jul 26, 2014 10:29 pm

Hi everyone, a few questions, firstly what are the metal things on strings attached to the seat runners?, secondly have had a couple of instances when engine is hot when restarting seems like its not firing on all cylinders ,almost like it is gonna stall?, thirdly i find the v6 gutless, mpg is acceptable approx 300miles to a tank, unleaded, but performance is not great! I understand that its heavy old bus but expected a bit more grunt!,only done 93000km, any tuning tips ect,,, and finally for now can anyone recommend a set of bumper spots that will fit in the standard cutouts ,thanks for your patience ,,,

My V6 is petrol / LPG .. it surprises a few when using it in 'H'old and as a manual around the islands down the Black country route ..!!

The biggest improvement I found was replacing the sparkies .. dizzy cap .. plug leads and rotor .. and running the tyres @ 38 - 40psi ..

The black bits of metal on strings go in the seat runners to restrict the movement of the seats.
Poor performance is not something the V6 suffers from.....probably a ignition problem....check each lead one at a tome and look for any ' tracking' most likely to be found around the plug caps.....also check out the plugs themselves.
Failing that move on to the dizzy cap and rota arm........top tip....use only genuine replacements .....costalot but worth it
