King lead for 2 L Petrol

Post by johnl » Wed Jul 16, 2014 7:07 pm

I've recently changed my dist cap and HT leads and had no problems with the plug leads. However the king lead provided was way too short. My old king lead measured approx. 20 cms but the one provided was 40 cms. I've been back to the supplier but they say they can't get a longer king lead. Has anyone had the same problem and/or know where I could obtain this lead?

Have I read that right: old was was 20cm, new one 40cm? That would mean its too long :?

You could contact one of the suppliers who sells the 4 main leads like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAZDA-BONGO-1 ... 1c4211ff51

Alternatively, check out the club shop or you can order genuine one from most Mazda dealers.

:)

Club shop does the V6 lead http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/mercha ... #Electrics and I seem to recall that is about 20cm so that may be what your supplier has taken as a reference. You used to be able to walk into any decent motor accessory shop and buy individual leads off a rack to suit the length and fitment you needed but I guess these days if it's not listed on their system, they can't just find one that's compatible.

Some have suggested to only use genuine OEm Mazda plug leads ... but I got my V6 lead set from Ignition car parts .. a very efficient company and a nice quality product ..

Dunno about Mazdas .. but they came with a three year warranty ....

It's ignition car parts who supplied the wrong lead and can't supply the right one.
