ignition switch.

A few days ago when camping, I switched on the ignition to close the blinds and smelt a burning smell but thought it was from somewhere outside the next day it started ok but then after stopping for a while I started it again and it made a horrible and a Lot of smoke came from the steering wheel. rung the aa he did something so I can drive but said I need a new ignition switch I spoke to bongo bits and he asked if I could send a picture of the part but I cannot remember what it looks like. can any one help I have an 02 2.5 petrol bongo.

Might be best to let a Bongo garage like 321away tackle this? An unusual thing to happen!

The aa man said it would be easy to fit as you just unplug the old one and plug in the new one. but being a woman I didn't look at it very well I should have taken a photo of it. All I know it was behind the ignition. if there is a diagram if the ignition I might remember which part I need.
