Hi, just after a 200 mile return trip last night, I drove over a drain cover that was recessed slightly on the road - immediately after that a rattle started.
I'm no mechanic by the way.. looking at it this morning I found a long bolt was loose, I got a spanner to it and tighten it up, the noise is still there and appears to be coming from the black plastic cover in the front of the engine.
The loose bolt appears to be holding the alternator bracket to the bottom front of the engine, now tight.
Very bad description I know, sorry.
Its sounds like something is bouncing around, rattling behind the black plastic cover (CAM Belt) and don't want to drive to the garage in case something bad happens.
Could anyone advise or even assist if your near Mansfield - happy to pay!
Thanks, Donald
Help! I have a rattle in the engine area. Mansfield (2lt 01)

Update - I had a friend get to the bottom of the problem, the Power Steering Pulley was not running true, thankfully its not a ruined engine!
