TARTING UP THE AUTO ROOF

Post by Jonny Tunnel » Sun Jun 08, 2014 7:48 pm

Hi, anyone know of any products to restore a faded looking roof. Are there specific sprays, paints or cleaners. Or do i just have to put up with it.
Cheers Jonny

I would ask here
http://www.autosmart.co.uk/
Some excellent products and should have a dealer living near you.
I use Brisk in my valeting machine and G101 for everything else

A friend of mine has had his pickup professionally sprayed in Plastidip, it's a rubber paint, very resilient, cost his £400 for the whole job.

I'm going to see how much the roof will cost,

Very good price.
Just been told about an ace product, Farcela Marine coat gel restorer, fantastic results. I'm buying some asap!

Autoglym resin polish on an electric mop will do wonders.

What does that cost cover, is it for the roof re spray or just the materials.

Thanks.

There's been a slight increase in the cost, £10 now as I changed the spec & went for gloss plasti-dip.

Hopefully going in of Saturday is I can get the old stickers off fully & the solar cell brackets bonded on.

Really has to be done though, the stickers are making a real mess as they come off. The AFT paint is terrible.

What colour are you going for.

How long do they need the vehicle.

Same colour as the lower body half, 3-4 hours to do the job.

I just need to hope the solar panel bond on brackets arrive in time so I can get them on before it's painted.

How are you removing the old stickers - mine are also looking bad, but what's still on there seems to be stuck pretty well. Any suggestions for best way to remove them?
