Slight Squeak At Idle

Post by Mark Elvin » Fri May 23, 2014 10:11 pm

Got a slight squeak at idle, it dissappears when the revs are increased just slightly.

My money is on loose belts or water pump bearings.

Anything else I should be considering.

Probably the belts. There are two for the alternator and one for the A/C. Check the tension and if ok, it may be worth replacing all of them especially if they look past their best. If you get a squeak under load it's often the no.1 exhaust manifold stud that's come loose or snapped off.
