12N wiring set up on 1996 2.5TD

Post by hijimhere » Sun May 11, 2014 10:25 pm

I have tried various searches non of which resulted in 12N information. Is there any information to wire in the tow bar available?

Moderator - Could I make a suggestion that ELECTRICAL be made a topic in its own right? Most automotive sites tend to make ELECTRICAL its own topic particularly with regards to later product which as we know have become electrically/electronicly prevalent with most manufacturers.

Hi
Will this do?
https://www.google.bg/search?q=Towbar+s ... B416%3B297
Any joint to existing wiring , use a heatshrink crimp butt joint with the glue sealant in the heatshrink bits
Mine was done by a firm who are "experts" in fitting, as I didn't have time....they naturally used Scotchlocks....exposed to the elements
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Here it is: http://www.westerntowing.co.uk/acatalog ... agram.html

To clarify, do you need the socket pin-out as per the above link, or the colour code for the vehicle wiring? If the later, it's simple enough to figure out once you've remove the rear lamp clusters. I did it when I fitted my towbar but didn't think to write it down .

Thanks Simon - I have prior knowledge on that - I was trying to cheat by looking for the colouring/purpose of the Bongo wiring alleviating the need to go to the wiring diagrams. Oh well here goes. lol
