Diff Oil - GL5, Really?

Post by mattbrum » Tue Apr 15, 2014 4:04 pm

Is GL5 really the correct oilf for the diff's and t/box. All the info I can find suggests its the one to use....

The stuff I bought is semi transparent and looks not much more viscous than water.

GL4 looks more like it to me, especially getting on past the 100k miles mark.

Any thoughts?

this is what i use in both our bongo.s, its been in for nearly 4 years.
one is a 2 wd the other a 4wd, its in the diffs and the manual box and the transfer case.
never had a problem.
