No front/rear screen washers

Post by Observer » Sun Apr 06, 2014 3:59 pm

Bongo was SORN 'd over the winter but kept outside and now with her MOT looming up both washers aren't working but the wipers are. As I understand it, each wiper/washer is fused separately and the fuses check out OK.
I have read loads of info on here but before I go through the procedure of battery/tray etc. removal, my question is :- if there are two pumps, is it likely that both could have seized or packed up at the same time?

Cheers, any help would be great.

Are two pumps actually operating, but just not pumping water ? Take a listen by the bottle when someone else operates the switchs.

Yes it is possible. I had failure on both, but, one was a seized motor, the other was the motor bushes needed a clean. Even so, battery tray etc has to come out :( :(

Thanks Geoff, I tried that and still can't hear either of the pumps making any noise

usually the motor connections just need a clean up and lube.
