Helloo,
Looking for some awning advice please. I am somewhat disabled - can walk a little bit but not much and can't do a lot in the way of lifting and holding stuff - so I'm looking for an awning that's reeeeeally easy for one person to put up and that won't break the bank. I did see one at the bongo bash that just sort of unfolded, but can't remember the make.
best budget easy put up awning??

Re: best budget easy put up awning??
I think you're thinking of the Quechua base standard tent or base full. They are really easy to put up and there's a knack to the folding but doable. I'm always looking for something that's easy for one short'ass like me. A Quechua won't attach though. Quechuas are hard to find now and the price is going up as a result. Don't be tempted by the new models of their tents or the XL version, that may be too much for one person.
I'm currently trying a Khyam tailgate awning and a Khyam tourer drive away is good for the side.
Of course the easiest is going to be one of these air beams! But they're mega bucks.
Hope this helps
And no, I'm not selling my quechuas.

Hiya,
I don't think it was a quechua I saw - maybe a khyam wih the poles that just sort of unfold? They're quite.expensive though, aren't they? I'd be interested to kniw how you get on with your tailgate one - just googled it and had a look. Do you think it could work as a side awning too? I definitely need one that attaches to van rather than a seperate tent.

The tailgate awning doesn't have a kador strip to attach to a figure of eight on the gutter but the principle may work. I would have thought a Tourer would be better for you and they do come up on eBay from time to time.
The Khyams are easy to put up, not as easy as the Quechua though. I have managed to break a joint on the legs each time I've taken it down so far. Khyam have given me some advice and are sending me more spare joints but it's knocked my confidence a bit. Easter will be the test as I'm moving around!
