Black Carpet Dye

Post by JEC » Thu Mar 27, 2014 12:34 pm

Hello All

I have had a quote of around £300 to retrim the front cab area carpets in my bongo but then someone pointed me in the direction of this product (or something similar)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/14120606 ... 80&ff14=95

Has anyone had any past experience of using this product or a similar version? Not to sure if its worth a try not!! :)

Cheers

Hi
Yes indeedie...blinking good stuff, carpet dye...I took the carpets out and jet-washed where possible, and steamed those I was too lazy to remove...painted about 2 coats, and they looked grand....topped them off with some extra heavy duty rubber mats, and they look very nice.... Some areas of carpet may need an extra bit of dye, but they're very good....but, boy oh boy, do they show the dog hair !!!!     , but that in itself makes you hoover more frequently!
Cheers

Yes Allan used a spray on carpet dye like those on the fitted carpet and removable mats in the Bongo pick up. He just tipped some into a hand held 1 litre sprayer, the plastic bottle type of sprayer you get from a garden centre for 99p. Then he sprayed a few coats, letting each coat dry before spraying the next coat. The result was great! He used black, and it covered the faded grey & blue perfectly. They looked like new. That was a few years ago and they still look like new.
