Hi everyone....I'm in the process of fitting a TM2 temp gauge,I have a willinton kit fitted so have wired the temp gauge to the top of fuse 8(with an inline fuse).....works fine until I turn the lights on..then the gauge goes out ,comes back on when the lights are turned off again.......bad earth maybe?......paul

Fuse 8 does the radio amongst other things, so if it has been re-wired so the radio is on the LB, you should move the TM2 to a feed that is switched with the ignition. Maybe 9 (engine management) or 10 (dashboard).

It might be your earth isn't an earth at all and that when the lights go on voltage hits that and it becomes live.

I had exactly the same issue with my coolant alarm - soon as high beam went on it went off.
Try moving the earth somewhere direct to the body.

Thanks - you were dead right... re-earthed it actually to the vehicle body and now works fine!
