sliding door light not coming on

Post by meek.tv » Mon Feb 24, 2014 12:25 am

The interior light has stopped coming on when I open the side door. It also means that if I leave the door open the alarm re arms itself and goes off which will cause problems when it's camping time again.
I've tried cleaning the contacts with a scouring pad but it doesn't seem to have done the job.
Any ideas?

It sound like you've cleaned the contacts for the door locking mechanism rather than the interior light switch. It looks the same as the ones on the front doors and is located on the pillar in front of the nearside rear wheelarch at the back of the door. It can be seen here as '(NO. 2) 66-820':

that was the one, thanks again. The switch was a bit sticky, I gave it a quick wipe and it seems to have helped.
Can I use a bit of meths to give it a clean? or a squirt of wd40?

Some form of cleaner that doesn't leave anything afterwards meth's should be fine if it doesn't damage anything else WD40 leaves a sticky grease residue which atrracts dust, ideally use switch cleaner!
