Flashing roof light on dashboard

Good evening all,

My new Bongo has a flashing roof light on the dashboard.

The roof is fully shut and does not leak.

Apparently it has not been used for a while and was not flashing on import 4 years ago.

Does anyone have any ideas? It does sound a little noisy when its goes up. Would some sort of grease/wd40 solve the problem?

Mine's been flashing for 7+ years. Faulty microswitch. Taped some black tape over the panel window to block it out!
