LED Interior Lights

Post by Mini Men » Wed Feb 05, 2014 10:54 am

Hello Again.

As you can see I'm taking time to mess with the van and finding your replies very helpful.

Latest question, thought I'd change the front interior lights for LED's, purchased two 501 T10 W5W bulbs which fitted perfectly. However they would not fully switch off. Played with the door open/off dial but when you switched them off there was a very faint light remaining. They dimmed considerably but remained slightly on.

Does this mean there is a always live feed to the bulbs that is too low to light a normal bulb or do I have a fault?

Cheers

LED's will continue working at quite low currents, others have mentioned the problem before! It may simply be dirt around the door switches leaving sufficient current to light the LED's a little, or it might be an alarm circuit that has been added to the Bongo. Try removing and cleaning the door switches perhaps.

there is a plunger type switch one the body behind door

squirt it with some contact cleaner and push it in and out a bit
