Foglight switch query

I've found some great instructions on the site on how to remove the dashboard and replace various bulbs.
I've managed to complete everything and put it all back (despite not having hands like those of a 10 year old). Biggest struggle was removing the large plastic fascia held on by 4 screws. On the rhs of the steering wheel (next to the coin holder thingy) I've got a blank where the foglight switch would go - behind this are attached wires. I can't manage to disconnect the white plastic wiring connector from the black front part - meaning that I couldn't properly remove the fascia and had to leave it dangling on stretched wires.

Anyone know what the secret is (apart from snipping the wires)? Would be useful to know for next time.

any good??. you just squeeze them. all the different ones are shown in good detail in the manual if you get a look somewhere.

Thanks for that.

On mine the switch 66-600A is blanked off. I can squeeze the back of it and get it out of the fascia panel, but then I can't unclip the white cable connector out of the back. Obviously won't go through the hole. Must have some sneaky clip somewhere.

Perhaps a little more brute force next time.

There is a little barbed tab on the broad side you can see it in the picture below;

It needs to be pressed in to release it.
