Injector pipes

Hi
Is there much movement in the injector pipes?, and can I just remove the 2 small clamp nuts on the manifold, bend the pipes out of the way whilst I remove the EGR pipe, and bend them all back into place without damaging anything?
I seem to remember on a previous diesel that it was possible...but I believe they were copper.
The EGR is blanked, but I want the pipe off as I want the hole on the inlet elbow for something
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Helen

It is not advisable to Bend Old Metal injector pipes as they can be very easily Fractured, best to disconnect from the pump and the injectors a Move them.

Good Luck.

Hi
That's what I had thought, considering the pressures....trouble is getting new glands / olives!!!

You would have to be extremely unlucky if you had to replace any part of the injector pipes after removal unless you damaged them.

Make sure the nuts screw on several threads by hand before you use a spanner.

Hi
I always ensure they're on right....It's my willing :^o assistant that I call upon if I want anything cross-threaded....and I NEVER allow anyone else to put spark-plugs in an ally head....
Cheers, Rita...That's tomorrow sorted....It's 0 degrees outside, and the Bongo engine is painful to touch with my hands...    That task will take an hour with stops to warm up

Make sure you put the wee brackets back on as they stop the pipes fracturing with the engine vibration

I've got a spare set in the unlikely event you have any problems.

Hi
Thanks, Simon...I expect the only problem will be undoing them...I am not keen on open-ended spanners on old nuts, especially when they are at an angle.....I may end up sawing the pipe off in bits....LOL.
