Ford Freeda Kitchen Query

Post by emac » Tue Aug 29, 2006 11:01 pm

I have just bought a ford freeda with factory fitted kitchen and have a few questions re the batteries.
The switch which shows the battery (in unit) needs charging has been replaced with a illuminated rocker switch should this be left in the on position (shows red light) or be left off?
If I connect to the mains (via a 240v to 110v transformer) will this charge all the batteries ie one in the kitchen and the two up front
New to this and find the forum very informative

hi you will only charge the leisure battery as it has its own charger in the unit. The push switch is often broken when loading items in back so perhaps thats why it has been replaced. Normally the light comes on when the battery gets low but you then push the button to put it off and you can continue to use other switches, lights etc but need to charge battery. soooo assume when light comes on you would have to switch it off ????

:) emac, I think you will find all your electrics will run fine after you have charged the battery up, but do check the distilled water levels first or you may damage it, you may find as we have, that if you try to run the fridge without been hooked up, it will drain the leisure battery enough to bring the warning light or trip switch on after about 6 to 8 hours. We always power the fridge whilst we are travelling, then flick it on for a couple of hours now and then when Crazy needs to cool 8) his scrumpy. If your on hook up FILL YER BOOTS  No problems.
cheers! party on dudes.
