Bongo Fury

Hello all we are try to get the Bongo back on the road after she been ill for so long wew pin her trouble down to the ecu yeh had to be the cheap part not

Any way she need so she going to be fixed i got the part number of my bongo so found a 2snd hand one from one near the same age as ours but part number do not match up now i know some time there dont macth up for patent parts ect .
i should add that mine a v reg (2000) 4x4 td there is y reg both fly by wire

so think well there part work in mine as if dose it means she be back on the road with in the week.

thank simon i tryed them too none that macth up wishing i had a older van some of the time and she in bits now too so cant driver her

new ecu fitted and the fault just came bk on grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr starting to heat bongo

think about scrap it and move on never thought I would say those words but need to get some transport sorted

I read on here recently that the overwhelming majority of ECU 'faults' are traced to sensors giving erroneous readings. Remind us again, what are the symptoms and fault codes you are getting?

Most EGR faults are due to clogged passageways. When you clear the codes does the fault come back at key on or when driving? under what conditions?

but to answers your question it comes on when driving but not under the same conditions which is why it taking the beep to try to sort

Usually the ECU does an electrical check on key on so the circuit should be good. If its coming on 'at random' then it could be a sticky EGR valve, the ECU usually tests the passageways by flicking the EGR open during deceleration and then looking for a change in manifold pressure.

A lot of folk blank or disconnect the EGR valve with no issues, although that is generally on the pre-drive by wire versions.
