ATF metal pipes part number pls

Post by Gasy » Sun Sep 15, 2013 4:17 pm

Had a close shave today
Was going to move me pikey wagon over to the farm I use for winter storage
Backed up to hitch up jumped out left engine running
Misses goes its dripping oil under bongo
Was gonna say its just the air con then thought hang on I got me coat on
Had a quick look puddle of red
The top metal pipe from auto box to rad had a weep on it gave it a rub with thumb nail turned into a spurt
Could someone pls put a link up to lush diagrams or the part numbers for these pipes pls
The pin hole in metal pipe was right next to end of rubber hose so I've managed to push hose over the pin hole and put the spring clip back on, I can see that the other hose has a jubilee clip on and looks a newer hose
I feel with the importance of the metal pipes and no warning system for low ATF I would be bait worried to leave them
Any one know how hard these are to replace and the part numbers
Many many thanks in advance
Think I've been very lucky to spot this only needed topping up with 1 1/2 litres
I'd just done 10 miles to get to where pikey wagon was parked
Cheers gasy

Found the lush diagrams
Numbers are a bit confusing
Think the part number might be 19-9AO
But is that for both pipes
They look fun to change
Is it possible / has any one fitted a oil pressure gauge to this set up
Cheers gasy

Where do I order these parts from main steller or can a independent parts supply
Cheers and thanks again
Good weather to be laying under the vehicle now

HI, if you can get hold of a decent plumber (pipe fitter)most of these pipes can be fabricated and fitted quite satisfactory.

I am a decent plumber
I did think of making some of these
But they looked a bit bigger than 10mm micro bore
And I have a policy with the Aa for 5 breakdowns a year up to £500 each time so was gonna go down that route and not get me hands dirty
Cheers

I have a Toyota Estima with a very similar mid engine layout to my Bongo ..

The oil cooler pipes my Toyota corroded and I replaced them .. a very awkward job feeding two 5 foot+ steel pipes from the bottom of the radiator to the gearbox ..

If it happens on the Bongo .. I would be tempted to cut out the corrosion and 'splice' some hydraulic 'rubber' pipe in .. !!

Really freaky... Purchased mine 4 weeks ago. noticed a small drip. Mine has gone in exactly the same place. Cleaned the pipes up today and got a spray upwards. Mines a 2.0 litre but im guessing they are all the same from the auto box. I did the same and pulled the excess up and double clamped it.

I had fuel pipe probs on another car and I was recomended using double braided fork lift hose. 10 years later... its still in....

I saw a pipe diagram for water but not seen an auto one...

Why don't you just go to a Mazda dealer? I have bought stuff without any issues from mine, they have all the parts listings.

I wouldn't recommend copper pipes as they could work harden with the vibration & fracture, lorry brake pipes are often the correct size for cooler pipes so it is worth contacting a commercial garage to see if they can make one up for you.

Hi. Just changed mine on the 2.0 litre petrol year 2000. All it took was remove x3 bolts holding black plastic air plenum. Move plenum a couple of inches out the way. Loosen off a couple of other pipe mounts. Disconnect rubber hoses and remove ATF pipe mount bolts. Lost about quarter of a pint out the system.
I read somewhere take the rad out but mine pulled out the rear. Attach a long piece of string so you see the route it's got to go back in. If pulling out the rear you will need to raise the front and rear at least 4 inches. The pipes come as a pair and took minutes to refit. £80.67 Contact Mazda in Braintree Essex with your VIN number,Paul 01376 342159. They were held in Antwerp. 3 days to get them. The part number in lush project is just a reference mazda get a number from that.

I had a similar pinhole leak but different location. I temporarily fixed it with chemical metal after a severe degreasing. I sourced a replacement pipe from a breaker but never got round to fitting it. The repair is holding fine...... cheers, Dave.
