Help required.
I have just changed the rear brake pads on the van, seemed to be a straight forward job.
But on clearing up I have discovered that one brake pad on each side has two shims, didn`t look all that close on removing them as
new ones came with shims in situ.
Any ideas why a pad would need two shims?
Also whats the torque setting for road wheels.
Thankyou
Malc

Re: rear brake pads
I did my ..front .. pads yesterday ..
The old and new pads both had pre fitted steel shims ..
On the old pads there where clip on stainless steel shims and a small anti rattle 'wedge' on the bottom .. all which I transferred onto the new pads ..
The toque setting are 12-15 kg meter (87 -109 lbs ft

Re: rear brake pads
Mazda Manual (page 268) lists the same toque for both steel and alloy..
