LED interior light bulb replacements

Post by meek.tv » Tue Jul 23, 2013 11:54 pm

It's bee done before but I thought that I would take a few pics and post them up.
I bought a pack of 5 of these...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111001025172? ... 1497.l2649

they come with a few different fitting options

Springy bit fits different sized festoon bulb holders

I actually ended up taking it back out and tucking the black connector bit underneath the sprung bit first before replacing it all

It is a real tight fit, I had to cut back a bit of the self adhesive pad to get it in ok
Image

all fitted in in nice and snug
Image

The AFT has a shorter bulb but the spring fits fine
Image

You could probably fit a larger one in the AFT if needed but I think it does just fine

If anything they may be a bit too bright when you are slipping out for a pee in the early hours of the morning but they are good for times when you aren't sleeping in the back.

**Edited** bit of a photobucket error

They may fit in the front cab lights too, I haven't had a chance to check yet. I tink somebody here has done it int he past but I'm not sure if they where smaller panels of led than these?

On a related note. Does anybody know the difference between the two ON setting on the aft light switch?

Hello I have LEDs in the front and the back lights. The back does take the 24 panel, and the front 2 of the 36 panels.I opted for the blue ones which I find give just as much light as the white ones, but does not affect your night vision.I have had mine in for the last two years, and you may find that some of the LEDs fail over time.As you have either 24 or 36 LEDs one or two failures do not matter. Thanks for the link,I will check to see if they do the Blue ones.Cheers Michael

it's good to know that if one fails on the panel the whole lot doesn't shut down. For the price of them I don't expect them to last forever

Hello checked the site and he does not do the blue ones. Also mine are round LEDs about 1/16th inch so do not stand out as much when not lit even though they are the 36 panel ones.Cheers Michael
