Drop link washer

Post by jl455 » Sun Jun 23, 2013 5:24 pm

Hi - Can anybody help. I have purchased a pair of drop links. The new ones come with a washer and locking nut rather than a collared nut. Which side does the washer go as the replacement link only has a 14mm nut on the link rather than a collar and looks a little small against the roll bar location hole. Thanks

That nut seems very small. If I were you I would check the thickness of the drop link bolts as there are ones around that are too small. The bolts should be m12. which would have a 19mm nut.

The bolt is a m12 with a 19mm nut. On the original link there is a collar ball joint side which would fit against the bar then at the back of that is where you can put a 14mm spanner to hold the link. I assume lots have been replaced so I just wondered if the washer goes on that side.
