coolant caps as a spare

Post by bongolou » Tue Jun 18, 2013 4:06 pm

I have been reading and it seems to be very confusing and sometimes conflicting as to which you should have. 1.1 or 0.9 bar. My bongo has a 1.1 cap fitted to the coolant/header tank. I was thinking of finding a spare to keep in the bongo just in case. But i read on here that it should have a 0.9 on the header tank, so now thinking is mine wrong, should i worry blah blah blah. Sorry for such a silly post but i would like to get the right thing. Does it matter my bongo being the 2002 2.5 v6 petrol is that why it has a 1.1 cap. By the way there is nothing wrong with my cap its purely to be safe and carry a spare.

It should be marked on the top .. 1.1 bar ..

Mine strangely disappeared, and the only ones I had in my garage where 0.9 bar from the lads water cooled motor bikes so I improvised and used one of those ..(which I have to confess is still on and seems OK .. but I will get a proper one) ..

So ... when you get a spare ask for a 1.1 bar radiator cap ..

But check the size ... a lot of European cars use a cap which is physically bigger ..!!
