More Rev Counter Problems

Post by Scotty » Fri Aug 18, 2006 8:46 am

Hi,

Driving my bongo along the motorway this morning and the rev counter began behaving erratically - it would flick about and even drop to zero. After about a minute the hold light came on, and once the rev counter resumed its normal position the hold light went off. The rev counter was fine the remainder of the journey.

I've looked at http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 1716b2c8d8

I've also noticed that the rev counter background light doesn't come on when the headlamps are on, and yet the speedo, temp and fuel gauge do.

Do you think its simply a duff connection at the back of ths dials, should I disconnect and spray contacts with WD40 - do you think this might solve it?

Any help much appreciated.

Forget the WD40, not good for electronics.

Just tighten any connections that might be loose.
