Coolant Loss - Passenger side??
Evening all,
Boring I know (so many threads moaning!) However can I find it?!?
Loosing coolant, seems to be a damp patch under the b-post on the passenger side, approx 5" in from the cill.
Can't find, see, hear anything when its running but appears overnight.
Any ideas, anyone had the same?
Thanks,
Matt

Re: Coolant Loss - Passenger side??
Don't recall any pipes on passenger side that far back. definitely not the drivers side? That's where most of them are for the rear heater.
Re: Coolant Loss - Passenger side??
Hi Matt, do you own a tintop with a sunroof perchance??
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Re: Coolant Loss - Passenger side??
item 61-2D2 on this drawing may be leaking at the rear end (where the 2 is in brackets), just done one today
.
the end can rot away where it turns opposite the b post and jumps over the front of the gearbox.
http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html.
big job to replace it, the front rad has to come out as the long pipe has to come out forwards.

check carefully, there is a white plastic clip nearby that hold the pipe to the inner chassis, check for rubbing here.

That rules out the sunroof guttering drain pipe then...!mattbrum wrote:Definitely passenger side![]()

turbo water pipe, running down the exhaust, or even a squirter from anywhere on that side.
.
look for a tracking mark, as good coolant usually cleans a track as it goes, unless it flys

Might need to put u/v dye in system and use u/v torch, if you can't identify source by others means.

Sorry for not coming back sooner, BT aren't the quickest at installing broadband!
Going to have a concerted effort on it tomorrow, really bugging me, I'm pretty good at these things.
Reckon I'm loosing about the best part of the header tank over 48hrs whilst static.
Wish I had the ramps installed here!
Will keep you posted and let you know the outcome,

Its been fiddled with here, before, double jubilee clips.
