Gutted

Post by jimmy101 » Sat Mar 09, 2013 2:08 pm

I love my bongo which ive had now for nine months.....
while filling the windscreen wash, noticed that the coolant level was just below the low mark
so like a muppet  decided to put a couple of cups of water in the expansion tank to advert a empty tank
drove a few miles and heard a bubbling sound coming from the expansion tank and the heater was blowing cold
stopped the van to have a quick look and put a bit more water in and got home with the temp gauge in
the same 11 0clock pos.
Well now i live in Torquay Devon, so phoned a few places to try and get this prob sorted
and nobody wants to know(grey import etc)
im very worried that the head might be cracked? HOW would i know ?
ive read a few things here on the fury site and now my morale is dropping fast
all i know about complicated mecanics is that i cant find a garage here close in devon
any help on this matter would be very much appreciated
i love my bongo........

Best bet would be to contact Allan's in Plymouth, maybe get it recovered there if you can convince your recovery insurers that they are the nearest specialists. With an overheat you are either lucky or unlucky....

Hope you are lucky, others may be able to recommend more local advice though.

have a look at the 3 video.s on youtube on how to bleed a mazda bongo, bleed it and test it, you probably will have got away with it as the temp gauge didnt go up.

pm sent.
