I am planning on a DIY removable kitchen for the rear. Where can I find a good choice of laminated board?
I would like it to be 12 -15mm thick, available in a good choice of matt/textured colours and with square and/or rolled edges.
Kitchen worktops are too thick and, anyway, I would like the sides and doors to blend with the Bongo interior. Kitchen carcasses tend to be white. I've seen some lovely kitchens on this site but been unsuccessful in googling the raw material for a simple (cheap as chips) DIY build.

Lots of excellent info on here http://sbmcc.co.uk/forum/index.php?act=idxcmm303 wrote:I am planning on a DIY removable kitchen for the rear. Where can I find a good choice of laminated board?

Re: Sourcing laminate tops, sides and doors
Such a shame my extensive build thread on here got deleted / lost, as I covered the pain of finding thin laminates for worktops etc - I ran into the same problem with domestic worktops being far too thick, and made of chip board.
I searched high and low and in the end bought kitchen "end panels" - the panels that are designed for the end of domestic kitchen units to dress them up - I bought a very long one, designed for the side of an upright fridge freezer - in gloss black. 15mm ish thick and made of mdf. Cost me around £50 from memory, from B&Q - was a special order.

Re: Sourcing laminate tops, sides and doors
Most people use Vohringer ply, very strong and lighter than MDF or chipboard. Pricey though and likely to be supplied only in full sheets.
I got ours from Wellhouse Leisure near Huddersfield and drove it home on the car roofbars.
This might help:

Re: Sourcing laminate tops, sides and doors
If you want cheap, grey melamine faced chipboard, about £20 for and 8X4 sheet.

Having trouble with the link. You have to navigate
Products >Chipboard>Check Stock Then change default from flooring to melamine faced.

The material I am referring to is for worktops in your conversion if you don't want to be forced to use the Vohringer colours.

I assume you have seen mine?

A local kitchen man made mine from my drawing, cost £150 inc a table, Massive choice of colours, all the edges are finsihed in a 3mm thick matching edging far more durable than the iron on stuiff.
Yes I know its only chip board but its has 12 months use and still fine and its cheap.
