Hello, when starting off today after leaving the bongo for about an hour, then restarting, the speedo didnt work and the hold light flashed.
I drove home, and then switched off.I restarted and the hold light was off, and tried driving up road and speed ok.would the hold light operate if the speedo stuck?.Also it has had a electronic kph/mph unit fitted in past.

Hold light etc.
The gearbox gets a signal from the speedo. If the signal is faulty the hold light will flash and the hold will not lock in a gear. If you remove the instrument cluster on the printed circuit you will see (I think) where a screw connects the output from the speedo to the printed circuit which then goes to the gearbox ecu. There is an old thread for this as on my van the hold light flashed since I bought my van. In tracing the fault found that the screw was missing and so no signal from the speedo to gearbox. I have left the odometer reading in kilometers and changed the face so that I didnt modify the signal to the head which may affect the signal to the gearbox.
