Help! drivers door won't open.

Post by GrayRX8 » Thu Jan 10, 2013 9:20 pm

Hi there

My Daughter has a 98 2 ltr Bongo. When she puts the key in the drivers door all the internal thingees pop up, all doors open except the drivers . She is coming over tommorow expecting me to fix it - would be grateful for any ideas.

Thanx in advance

It could be as simple as the rod from the actuator not pushing the door pin up.
That happened to mine a few weeks ago, and it just needed the grub screw tightening up.
You will need to take the door card off.
Lost without my Bongo.

Hi, Can the drivers door be opened from the inside catch..?
Are you saying that when the drivers door is unlocked "all the internal thingees pop up" that includes the drivers door too?
Is the symptom more a case of when the outside handle is pulled the door don't pop open??

If so? I'm thinking door connection to the mechanism to the door handle....

These schematic links may help...? http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html

Hi Lads

Many thanks for your quick replies.
Door card off - it turned out to be a linkage problem, the little white plastic clip which is cramped round the connecting rod had split apart, just needed the rod put back in position and the clip crimped closed.

Thanks again Gray
